The Tiger II was the successor to the Tiger I, combining the latter's thick armor with the armor sloping used on the Panther medium tank. The tank weighed almost seventy metric tons, and was protected by 100 to 180 mm (3.9 to 7.1 in) of armor to the front. It was armed with the long barreled 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 gun (same as the Nashorn Tank Hunter)

The Tiger II was issued to heavy tank battalions of the Army (Schwere Heerespanzerabteilung – abbreviated s.H.Pz.Abt) and the Waffen-SS (s.SS.Pz.Abt). It was first used in combat with s.H.Pz.Abt. 503 during the  on 11 July 1944; on the Eastern Front, the first unit to be outfitted with Tiger IIs was the s.H.Pz.Abt. 501 which by 1 September 1944 listed 25 Tiger IIs operational

  1. New ABS Kingtiger!

Posted by Unknown on Jul 22nd 2020

I received the new and improved ABS Kingtiger from Field Of Armor and I'm absolutely impressed by the engineering and accuracy. All parts came in their individual packaging with no broken items. Putting this vehicle together has been pretty easy with help from the pictures and videos online from the website. I would definitely recommend this vehicle to anyone with modeling skills. Hats off to Loic and his team for a wonderful project.

  2. Love this Kit!

Received order, and everything was exactly what was shown and promised on FOA website. Great casting on the resin parts, sheet metal has perfect score lines for bending into shape, and I have always received super customer service.

  3. Kingtiger

Posted by Duane Dahm on Aug 5th 2016

Working on my latest tank kit from FOA, the Kingtiger. This kit has gone together well and with modifications will be a real gem in my R/C tank collection. The kit can be made into a high quality R/C tank that I will be proud to show off at events! Thank you Loic.
